Nature restoration in Frederikshavn Municipality
This project aims to restore and transform 33 ha of arable land into nature and forest in North Jutland. The project area borders several protected nature types, including meadow, heath, lake, grassland and bog. In addition, the area is classified as being of special groundwater interest, which makes the project significant in relation to both biodiversity and groundwater protection. The restoration will create coherent ecosystems, promote biodiversity and help protect the underlying groundwater resources.

Climate Change Adaptation
Investments in natural infrastructure enhance ecosystem resilience and protect against extreme weather events. This supports climate change adaptation by reducing vulnerability and increasing the adaptive capacity of both ecosystems and communities.
Climate Change Mitigation
Nature-based projects sequester carbon dioxide, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These efforts help companies contribute to climate change mitigation goals, aligning with the EU's commitment to limiting global warming.
Pollution Prevention and Control
Implementing nature-based solutions helps prevent and control pollution. These projects filter pollutants from air and water, reduce chemical runoff, and improve overall environmental health, meeting EU pollution control objectives.
Protection and Restoration of Biodiversity and Ecosystems
Biodiversity enhancement projects directly protect and restore ecosystems. These efforts are crucial for maintaining biodiversity, ensuring ecosystem services, and fulfilling the EU's biodiversity protection and restoration targets.
Sustainable Use and Protection of Water and Marine Resources
Nature-based solutions ensure the sustainable use and protection of water resources. These projects improve water quality, regulate water cycles, and safeguard marine ecosystems, aligning with EU water protection standards.
