Investing in Battery Energy Storage Systems: A green infrastructure

Aeon developed an investment concept for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)—a critical green energy asset designed to support the integration of wind and solar power while enhancing grid stability in Denmark. By providing a structured financial framework, Aeon enabled investors to participate in the energy storage sector, which is essential for scaling up renewable energy adoption.

This investment model was adopted by a Danish grid project developer seeking to expand grid-scale battery deployment across the Nordic region. The developer leveraged Aeon’s structured approach to attract funding and accelerate the implementation of large-scale energy storage solutions, supporting the broader shift toward a more resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure.

Aeon contributed by developing investment concepts and business models within the Danish energy market for grid-scale batteries, securing land areas for project development, and drafting the full contract landscape to address various stakeholders and interests. The work also included modeling profitability and risk profiles for clients, supporting customer development by writing prospectuses with clear documentation outlining the full investment scope, and managing vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost adherence across the supply chain.

Additionally, Aeon played a key role in stakeholder management, engaging with municipalities, customers, Energinet, and Radius to drive successful project outcomes.
